Can't Connect To Bitly

Using Win 10 latest update, FF (and Chrome), when I try to open links on Facebook and elsewhere that use bitly to shorten long links, it suddenly will not connect to the bitly site. This happens on all bitly links regardless of the source links. This never happened before FF forced the new, not very well tested version (ver 57.0) on us. I've asked FB but they had no idea. The steps suggested in FF Help are either irrelevant or don't really seem to lead to the pages they claim (right clicking on windows logo does not open anything related to control panel, etc). Trying to add bitly to trusted sites in the Windows firewall is useless since it won't accept bit.ly as a link. I can't even include a screenshot since FF didn't think to add that feature to the newest version.

okay, so suddenly it's working as it should. I can go to the page through the bitly link. I did nothing but write to support here and FB. Don't know how to delete the post so just ignore.
