Hello,

I expect that Ctrl+F4 may close Firefox tab, and Ctrl+Shift+T may restore it after close.

t's useful and work in most browsers. But seems that this behavior not available in FF57.

Is there an opportunity to add this features into new great FF?

Chosen solution

Ctrl+F4 is one of the global shortcuts in Xfce as you can see in Settings Manager > Window Manager > Keyboard

Ctrl+F4 is set as Workspace 4 ..for me.

Otherwise the Ctrl + W is the same for close tab.

Dear Pkshadow, thanks for fast answer.

Seems that Ubuntu 16.04 package have some problems. I'll try to contact package maintainer or something like.

Cheers.

Is Session Restore otherwise working properly?

Best is to select this startup setting to prevent issues when you accidentally close tabs or close Firefox:

  • "Show my windows and tabs from last time"

See also these prefs on the about:config page:

  • browser.sessionstore.max_tabs_undo
  • browser.sessionstore.max_windows_undo

Try the Firefox version from the official Mozilla server if you currently use a version from the repositories of your Linux distribution.

Dear cor-el,

thanks for pro tips.

My FF from package have this values: browser.sessionstore.max_tabs_undo = 10 browser.sessionstore.max_windows_undo = 3

In official FF Linux distribution (tar.bz2), Ctrl+Shift+T now work, but not Ctrl+F4 feature. I can't see hotkey conficts in my XFCE, but it's already somewhat.

Dear James,

thanks for resolving Ctrl+F4, my settings are the same.

I use only one workspace, so are simply clear this shortcut. Now Ctrl+F4 may close tab too.

Thank you very much!

P. S.: Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year! Many thanks for help.
