How do you stop pop ups on CNN?

CNN has started these very annoying pop ups to subscribe to some of their feeds. These come up whenever you select the 'back' arrow or bookmarks.

I've got popup blocker activated but it doesn't do any good.

Any ideas how to prevent CNN web pages from issuing these?
