Curious why Malwarebytes would peg this as a "Potentially Unwanted Program"

C:\USERS\...\APPDATA\ROAMING\MOZILLA\FIREFOX\PROFILES\BVRSW9L3.DEFAULT\EXTENSIONS\6200CC7406CD11E1A68A12313D1ADCBE@JETPACK.XPI

Thoughts? Thx!

When I search that file name, I see a match for the "AwardWallet" extension. Heard of that before?

You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions.

Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right side. Any extensions Firefox installs for built-in features are hidden from this page, so everything listed here is your choice (and your responsibility) to manage. Anything suspicious or that you just do not remember installing or why? If in doubt, disable (or remove).

Any improvement?

Note: Malwarebytes may identify an extension as potentially unwanted if it is often bundled with other software, particularly as an undisclosed ride-along. This doesn't necessarily mean it is malicious or steals information, but it may modify your browsing experience in unexpected ways if you didn't intend to install it.

Yes, I know Award Wallet (a website that helps keep track of airline frequent flier programs) and did see the file was associated with it. However, I do not have an Award Wallet extension or plug in. In any case, I've deleted the file, and still am able to access the Award Wallet webpage. (And the file was not re-created.) Thanks for piping up!
