I am having the same issue but I am in Germany but the UI language is French and I want it in English.

Hi janis24, is this an issue with Firefox's own language or the language of websites?

Language Setting

Firefox transmits requested language information using a setting on the Options page:

• Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
• Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences
• Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Preferences
• Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it

Scroll down a bit to the Language setting and click the "Choose" button. Make sure the box shows the languages you want Firefox to request.

Location

Some websites will roughly gauge your location and use that information to switch the language if they have not previously stored a specific language for you (in an account or in a cookie). You can check your current IP address location information using a site like the following:

https://www.iplocation.net/

Some sites allow you to override that using a setting in the page (do you see FR or a French flag icon anywhere?) or if you know a trick, such as this one for Google:

https://www.google.com/ncr

(That's the "no country redirect" address which sets a cookie to keep you on the .com site.)

Hi nicklouse, if your Firefox menus are in French, you can download an English language installer and "update" your current Firefox with it. The installer should automatically detect and use your existing settings.

If you want to double-check your current "localization" (or localisation if you're British), you can check the Troubleshooting Information page. Either:

• "3-bar" menu button > "?" Help > Troubleshooting Information
• (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
• type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter

The information is at the very bottom of the page in the Internationalization & Localization section. I think "App Locales" tells you which locale your Firefox was built for.

I have been through it so many times

Hi nicklouse, if you do not see "Help" on the menu in English, then go ahead and install an English version of Firefox using the download link I provided earlier.

Hi janis24, if your Firefox describes [en] as Anglais, I think you have a French version of Firefox. You can download an English-language installer from the following page:

The link I gave earlier is language neutral and adapts to your language preference settings. This one should show British English text regardless:
