Why does You Tube show video restricted every time I try to watch a video?
Ever since I started using Firefox browser I can't watch videos on You Tube. It says video restricted. Why?
Chosen solution
Maybe your F-Secure security software is causing problems.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
- do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

Hi, is this every video or just select few ? There is a section of videos that you have to login to youtube to view them and say you are over 18 I think it is.
Try empty your cache and clear cookies and see if that helps if it is not.
It is every video on you tube ever since I started using firefox
Please try : uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files , C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\ProgramData Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :
- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/export-firefox-bookmarks-to-backup-or-transfer
Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 59.0.2 with a Full Version Installer
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
Why should I uninstall when I just installed it a couple of weeks ago?

Hi,
Maybe you inadvertently turned on 'Restricted Mode' :
Disable or enable Restricted Mode
Another possibility is described here :

'Looks like cor-el is right :
I just saw a thread on Google Help, which mentioned that this could be caused by : Browsing Protection by F-Secure, and your system details show that you have that extension installed.
Thank you I will check it out and post what happens later. Thank you both!

You take all the time you need - no rush !
I disabled F-Secure and it seems to have worked. Is it needed with firefox or am I okay without it? I just had a 30 day free trial.

Absolutely not needed - you can save yourself some money !
By the way : I think it's cor-el who deserves the credits for this - so, would you be a dear and remove the Chosen Solution mark from my post and mark cor-el's instead ?
How do I uninstall the F-Secure extension? I do not see it in my programs.

Go to the 3-bar menu (or 'Tools') => Add-ons => Extensions
You'll see it listed there - like your system details here show under 'Extensions' : 'Browsing Protection by F-Secure 2.211.7392'
There should be a 'remove' button ......
There is only a disable and enable button. It is part of my security suite that is on my computer. So I guess all I can do is disable it. Can I just do this on You Tube or does it have to be disabled all the time?

Personal opinion : disable it period and save yourself some money.
With Windows' built-in Defender and the safest browser on the planet : to me it feels like being in Fort Knox !
Extensions that do not have a "Remove" button are installed globally by other software and are not under control of the Firefox extension manager. Globally installed extensions are usually found via a registry scan or are installed in a location that Firefox scans for installed extensions.
You can find the install location of a specific extension in the extensions.json file in the profile folder. You can open the extensions.json file in the Scratchpad and search for this extension. The descriptor field should list its install location.
You should contact F-Secure for issues with their software to see if they have a workaround.
Thank you so much for all of your help! I greatly appreciate it!
