A firefox screen came up stating that I had to install some sort of a security program, but when I clicked firefox blocked. Is this some scam or what?

The screen said that Firefox required that I install a security program. I clicked to do so and I received a message that firefox was blocking the installation. I am not sure what to do.

Sure sounds like a scam. Firefox doesn't require any specific security programs to help it work and will never offer to install one for you.
