ff tabs doesnt open and hangs,
I've got the same problem as Firefoxfan1 since upgrading to the v60 as Firefoxfan1. When i want to open FF it won't open 2 times out of 3 and when it never opens or else FF crashes or i have to end the tasks in Task Manager. Once FF opens without hanging i click on a URL shortcut, the tab hangs. It won’t open. I try opening one or more new tabs, they all hang, except 1 out of about 5 which opens correctly. Sometimes opening new tabs hangs indifinetly until FF crashes. My FF/crash reports/pending folder holds a great amount of crashes, every crash produces 3 dumps. 0861bfdb-4ff5-417f-aa4a-1ba7ac97989c.extra 0861bfdb-4ff5-417f-aa4a-1ba7ac97989c.dmp 0861bfdb-4ff5-417f-aa4a-1ba7ac97989c-browser.dmp Unlike Firefoxfan1 i never experienced this type of problem, i’ve been using FF since the end of Netscape back in the 90’s. I’ve already sent these dumps to FF as recommended. I uninstalled FF and reinstalled but the problem persists. I also reinitialised FF to no prevail. Any hints on what the problem is ?
Chosen solution

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
While still in Safe Mode,
In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP- in front of the numbers/letters, click it to submit them.
The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.
Using your mouse, mark the most recent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box and paste them in.

This Windows 10 file is Crashing : ucrtbase.dll Your Shutting Firefox down so it is not actually a Crash it is a Kill.
Please Search for Event Viewer and Search for same time as the Crashes. Or next time go there and look.
It is Microsoft Patch Tuesday today, Please Patch and reboot.
This is the Windows 10 Registry and System Files fix, Note : may download new files. 1)Use the Windows key + X keyboard shortcut to open the Power User menu and select Command Prompt (Admin). 2)Type Copy/Paste the following command and press Enter: 3)DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth 4)Reboot
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
Note that these are shutdown hangs where Firefox takes too long to close down properly and a crash is forced.
You can create a new profile to test if your current profile is causing the problem.
See "Creating a profile":
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
@cor-el : i've initialized FF, i've uninstalled and reinstalled FF, i've deleted and created new profiles, the problem is identical
@FredMcD : I still need further assistance. I've installed Microsoft Patch Tuesday batch. i've executed the DISM command, still no change in my problem. You're right i actually killed FF because the tabs and FF wouldn't terminate by itself. For your information these problems do not occur with MS Edge I submitted 10 new crashes, all done while in Safe Mode,

I didn't copy my ntdll.dll off my laptop pc to the pc where i'm having problems, but if its necessary i will. It seems to me this is a windows problem and not a FF one. Am i correct? Why am i having this problem on FF and not MS Edge ?
