We have the following setup;

1) a windows 2008 Terminal Server with the Mozilla Thunderbird client. 2) a FileServer where the user's roaming profile is stored. 3) a MailServer hosting LumiSoft MailServer software.

My Sent folder is a 1,5Gb on disk. I am surprised to notice archiving this Sent folder consumes up an extra 1,5Gb of disk space. I would expect archiving should not consume disk space as archiving is only moving e-mails from one folder to another?

Is my approach to this case correct?

Best regards,

Ardjoen Lachan

Chosen solution

Space is freed after a message "move" only after an expunge on the server and a compact on the local Thunderbird.
