I have a Mac Mini running Mojave, and a notebook PC running Windows 7. Both access my primary Gmail account via IMAP for mail.

I have Lightning configured to use the Google Calendar as my default. As far as the Calendar itself, it works just fine on both computers.

On the PC, Google Tasks also show up just fine; I can add, delete, edit normally.

On the Mac, however, with the same version of Thunderbird, same Google account, and, as far as I can trace, same settings, I cannot get Tasks to show up. If I try to create a task, I receive an error to select a calendar that supports tasks.

I have been trying to figure this out and get Tasks to show up in Lightning on the Mac for months now, and am at a total loss. Can anyone let me know why the same account/parameters work on the PC but not the Mac?

Running Thunderbird 60.7.2 (64-bit), Lightning 6.2.7.2

Chosen solution

I would guess you are using the "provider for google calendar" add=-on for tasks on one install and caldav on the other to only get the calendar.

I have Provider for Google Calendar on both systems, thanks. I don't recall if I installed it before or after I set up Lightning on the Mac, however.

I tried unsubscribing the calendar and resubscribing, and this time it seems like it's accessing the Tasks. Thank you for the nudge about "Provider--." It might have been that I installed it shortly after setting up the calendar in my early efforts to fix the issue.
