The shortcut Ctrl-Shift Page Up, Page Down, and Home are no longer working. It worked before updating to FF v. 69.0 (64-bit). I use Windows 7, Pro, X-64. I tried using the Ctrl-Shift keys on both sides of my keyboard.

Hi GaryC, Is NumLock on?

Here's an article about:

What do you expect these shortcuts to do and what do they currently ?

These shortcuts are supposed to work with NumLock on. They have always worked that way in the past.

Move the tab left or right. They do nothing now. With Ctrl-Shift Home you should be able to move the tab all the way to the left. It does nothing too.

^: Yes, that would be the default and expected action for Ctrl+Shift+PgUp/PgDown in Firefox. The Ctrl+Shift+Home keyboard shortcut only works if the Tab bar has focus, i.e. there is a focus ring around the tab text as mentioned in the article.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

Restarting in Safe Mode did not help. I usually have the default theme anyway.

But I did find something that made a difference. I have, and have had, around 200 tabs open in Firefox, and around the same number in Opera. When I close Opera the keyboard shortcut for the tabs works. It's not a memory issue, or at least not just a memory issue, because I am using less than 9GB of memory out of 16GB. To be clear, I have to close Opera and keep it closed for this to work.

What do you think?
