New to Thunderbird on Win 10. Set up a POP3 account. On the bottom of the window it shows connected to incoming mail server but when I select get messages I get none. I can send messages just fine but can't receive.

Chosen solution

Try these settings:

incoming POP server: mail.sasktel.net port: 995 connection security: SSL/TLS authentication: normal password User Name: full email address

outgoing SMTP server: smtp.sasktel.net port: 587 connection security: STARTTLS authentication: normal password User Name: full email address

Consider an IMAP setup if you want to sync mail between several devices, computers or phones. Add the account to TB as IMAP, as you can't change from POP to IMAP just by changing the settings.

What are your POP server settings in Tools/Account Settings, Server Settings? Substitute username for your real User Name.

I was previously using Outlook 2003. I believe I have Thunderbird set up with the same settings. Here are my server settings.
