This morning I only see a white screen logging into FB on my Windows 10 desktop. All other sites seem to be working. I can log into FB on my phone and using Edge (not my default browser). I have deleted cookies and history and tried to "refresh" Firefox without success. I do not use FB container. Please help.

Chosen solution

This could be a problem with local storage and possibly running this command in the Web Console to clear storage as posted in bug 1569296 might fix it.

  • localStorage.clear()

You can remove all data stored in Firefox for a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox for this domain like history and cookies and passwords and exceptions and cache, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data for that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data for that website will be saved once again.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support to see if that has effect.

Unfortunately, this did not help. Any other suggestions? Thank you.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect in case security software is causing problems.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.

Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.

Make sure you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.

You can check for issues with location storage (indexedDB).

Thank you for your continued support. You get an A+. I do believe it was the Facebook Bug. I had reported the problem to Facebook. The next morning, Facebook loaded without an issue. The had emailed me a code to reset my password, as well. Once I did that...all is working perfectly. (Knock on wood!)
