Dear Mozilla Community,

I would like to suggest you to make built in adblocker in Firefox. For example Opera have this feature so we don't need install any extension. People from Mozilla read subjects in support.mozilla.org? If not where I can send my suggestion?

P.S. I wanted to install Adblock Plus extension but I am afraid about safety so better option is to make built in adblocker to protect from malware. I think that this can be direction in good way.

Yours faithfully, Piotr

Hi,

after estimating a maintenance cost of such a feature, I don't think that Moz has enough resources to do it.

We have open source extensions like uBlock Origin. So why Mozilla can't invite this programist to join forces?

uBlock Origin is very safe, so you don't have to worry about its safety, even if it's not built-in.

The official answer is that in general we accept ads, so built-in adblocker would be against that. Opera does have a different marketing model.

And, if your question is about a malware protection, we have different anti-malware modules built in Firefox.

Okay, but I wanted to install Adblock Plus, here is the link to extension --> https://addons.mozilla.org/pl/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/

Why this popular extension is not verified by Mozilla. How I can verify that this software is maintained by Eyeo Gmbh and it is official software?

I found also that uBlock Origin had problems with security (I only googled this, I didn't entire to website but this was dobre programy or something like that)

P.S. "TyDraniu" nick suggest polish user?

Yes, the owner of this addon is Eyeo for sure.

Mozilla should have of their website another "icons" (information?) which can confirm that software is from Developer. Now we don't know what extension is official from developer. Of course Mozilla should still have the same icon with recommendation but another icon with "verified that this software is from developer" will be very helpful.

Hi

You have another question open about ad-blockers like Adblock Plus and best is to keep this discussion in one thread, so I will lock this thread since we already explained that Mozilla leaves adding additional feature over to extension creators.
