I'm running Thunderbird 91.2.0 32 Bit on a Windows 10 computer and am trying to "Connect to my Existing Online Address Books and Caledars: CardDAV and CalDAV support auto-detection added.

My account page looks nothing like the Account Setup page as seen at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/new-thunderbird-91#w_have-your-favorite-views-on-email-your-way. How do I connect to remote address book and remote calendar?

I just don't see it.

Thx

D

For calendars, File/New/Calendar... On the network...enter your credentials.

For contacts, in Address Book, File/New/CardDAV Address Book...enter your credentials.

For the case of Google, entering your Google address should prompt autodiscovery of the Location. For other providers, you may have to enter a DAV URL.

Thanks.

But,

What are credentials? Where do I find them? I really don't know much about what's behind the screen.

What is a DAV URL?

Thanks

Credentials are usually User Name and password. For most services, the User Name is the mail address, such as yourname@gmail.com. A CardDAV or CalDAV URL is the location of the contacts or calendar resource. With Google, the URL is auto-detected.
