Large files are the same regardless of where you are sending them. The only difference is in the definition of what amounts to large varies from server to server.

You might want to try some of the file link provider addons. Perhaps there is even one for a service you have an account with. https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/search/?q=filelink&appver=&platform=
