PDF Download
In the recent update, there is a new feature which allowed people to view pdf directly in the browser rather than downloading it. Ever since this was implemented, I am not able to download any pdf, instead it keeps opening up the pdf in another tab which is not what I'm trying to do. Is there a way to fix this?

Hi
I just tried this myself and I can download the file.
When viewing the .pdf file, open the Firefox for Android menu and select the Share icon. You should then see the option to download the file. I hope that this helps

Thank you, it worked! :D
The use of the "Share" icon, followed by the download option, does NOT work.
The downloaded pdf files are blank when opened with Adobe etc.
This latest change is disastrous.

The download pdf function works, but all it saves is a blank pdf file.

If your pdf has a button/link to click, try holding it down for a few seconds, then clicking "download link". It took me a while to come up with that, but it worked for pdf, and a video download. I hope that helps!
I can't download pdf files either. It shows on the screen, but the Share option in the menu does not send or save a pdf file. This issue is not resolved.
What i figured out is that it is "some" websites that the function doesn't produce a actual pdf file.
I was having the issue with my insurance website not downloading, but other websites will work fine.
I now think this is connected with an android problem to do with downloads or download history. I have two mobile phones, both using the latest firefox. One downloads pdf files from my own Web site perfectly (android 10), the other one (android 12) gives the notification "Download failed". I think the problem started months ago when I deleted & reloaded a pdf file several times. Android behaved oddly about naming the file, as in appending a version number to the file name even when the file had been removed from the download folder. I can't find any way to get into an Android history of file names allocated to downloaded files, otherwise I would clear it and try again. By the way, Chrome works perfectly on both phones to download the same files.

In addition to the problem that empty files get downloaded - even if that worked properly, putting the download functionality behind a "Share" button is completely counter-intuitive. If the functionality is hard to discover, it might just as well be absent. For this reason, if your actual goal is to enable the user, I'd still consider this feature broken.
The "Share" -> "Save as PDF" almost works when you know it exists! The residual problem is it does not respect the file name of the PDF and seems to add the pages title in front, likely reusing the name generation process for the recent save HTML to PDF functionality.
If this is the only supported way to save application/pdf type files it really should respect the filename, right?
