I have an email account ...@outlook.de. I haven't been able to send emails for a few days. Email reception works. SMTP-Server: smtp.office365.com Port: 587 STARTTLS OAuth2 Errormessage: Failed to send message. The message could not be sent because the connection to the SMTP server smtp-mail.outlook.com failed. The server is either unavailable or refusing SMTP connections. Please check the SMTP server settings and try again.

Chosen solution

Thank you for your quick response. I had 2 accounts: - old: smtp-mail.outlook.com - new (default): smtp.office365.com I deleted the old SMTP server and the problem is solved.

Do you have more than one account? I suggest you review your SMTP server settings. Click account settings, then scroll down left side to 'Outgoing Servers (SMTP) and review all settings, as one of them appears to still be set to smtp-mail.outlook.com. If true, that also indicates your account settings pane is pointing to the wrong smtp server.
