Why I cannot use drag and drop to open a new webpage now?
I'm experiencing an issue with the drag and drop functionality in my browser that's significantly affecting my workflow. Previous behavior:
I could drag any selected text to any area of the browser window to open a new search tab I could lightly drag links anywhere to open them in new tabs
Current behavior:
Now I must drag content specifically to the tab bar at the top to open new tabs This extra precision required is frustrating and slowing down my browsing
I haven't intentionally changed any settings, and this change happened suddenly. This functionality was extremely useful for me as I frequently need to open multiple tabs while researching. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is this a new "feature" or a bug? Most importantly, does anyone know how to restore the previous drag and drop behavior? Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!

Are you sure it's not a site issue related? And since there is no link to what site is causing this no one can verify or replicate the issue to know what's happening.
I never thought to drop selected text outside of the address bar/search bar so I wasn't aware that would trigger anything. Can you get by with the context menu items? Here's what I mean:
Search
After selecting text, right-click (or Shift+right-click to bypass custom site menus) and then:
Search [default search engine] for "[selected text]"
Links
If the page used a hyperlink, the context menu should always have Open Link in New Tab. If you selected a non-hyperlinked URL, Firefox should have that, but if the URL is incomplete, Firefox might not show the option.
