Firefox cannot access the internet but other programs can, and all the steps in the help section don't help.

When ever I open Firefox it says "unable to connect" but internet explorer can connect. This started yesturday. I had been online with firefox then I closed the window and ten minutes later when I tried to get back on it started this unable to connect.
