data that is in tabular form on a webite , firefox brings in in one cell

when I copy and paste sports statistics that are tabular form on a website, it comes in to Firefox in one cell which does not allow me to move the data. Before April 2010 stats would be imported in several cells exactly as they appeared on the website and could be manipulated as i needed to do. Now being in one cell the data can't be moved.
