I cannot see the security codes on backpage or craigslist to reply to an ad, what do I do?

when I try to reply to an ad on Craigslist or Backpage it tells me to put in the security code....I can't see a security code. Is there something I can change in my settings to allow me to see this. My friends computer has no problems seeing the code.
