I am trying to upload a resume to a website that only supports Firefox versions 1.0, & 1.7. Is there any way around this, such as running an old version as a plug-in, or downloading an old version as a separate & independent browser from my current version 3.5.15?

Firefox never released a 1.7 version, but there was a 1.0.7 version - 5 years ago. You should contact the Umich IT dept for help with that problem. I find it very strange that a university website wouldn't support newer versions of Firefox than that.

It is my understanding that on MacOSX you can't have two different versions of Firefox installed at the same time, unlike Linux or Windows. If you replace your current version with a 1.0.x version, you are liable to lose all your "personal data", like passwords, bookmarks, etc. because almost everything in the Profile folder was changed between the Firefox 1.0.x versions and the 3.5.x versions. Firefox Portable on a USB stick isn't the answer either, it didn't exist back in the days of Firefox 1.0.x versions. Firefox 1.5.0.4 was the first version made for the Mac platform, afaik.
