No sound on Firefox4 on Kol Israel or IBA World

Since downloading Firefox 4 there is no sound when I try to listen to either Kol Israel news reports,or IBA World(which is about the same).The sound works fine on IE 8 as well as IE 9.I am using XP Sp.3.Interestingly enough,all of the above works on my laptop,with Vista Home Premium!It's a mystery?!

Your Installed Plug-ins list shows the old WMP (Npdsplay dll) and the new WMP (np-mswmp) plugin. You can try to disable the old WMP plugin (Tools > Add-ons > Plugins). You can also try to disable (or uninstall) the VideoLAN as that plugin can cause problems by taking over MIME types that it doesn't handle properly.

Hi "Cor-el" I tried to disable both the "old"WMP plug-in and the VLP plug-ins,but still GET NO SOUND ON Kol Israel,or IBA World. Interestingly,as noted before,I can get sound on both sites on the Internet Explorer(8,because this is XP),so I just have to switch ot IE. It is surprising and mysterious,but computers are always full of surprises! Thanks for your help.but unfortunately it did not work.

Hello macko1944. Can you please provide a link to the page you try to listen to their audio stream from?

I guess you are unable to hear to stream from Reshet Bet, which is using Flash-based player and is working well for me using Firefox4/Linux. → http://www.iba.org.il/bet/
