Everytime I use google as the search engine in the search bar it defaults to google.ro instead of google.co.uk as I am based in the UK.

Try doing this which will set you homepage to Google UK.

  1. In the Location bar, type about:config and hit Enter
  2. In the filter at the top, type keyword.URL
  3. Double click it and replace the current setting with http://www.google.co.uk/search?q= (it has to entered exactly as you see it written here)

Since it's a URL, you can right click the link and choose "Copy Link Location" to copy it to the Windows clipboard. Then hit CTRL+V to paste it. Saves you having to type it when you go to change the setting.

Then go to File | Exit.
