Task Manager says Firefox is running but it is not visible.

I read the responses to this question and found that it runs fine in safe mode but nothing is visible when it is running using normal start. I have uninstalled, cleaned registry, re-downloaded 5.0.1, and installed a couple of times. No soap. Still only runs in safe mode. One other problem is that when I "start" normally the only way I can close Firefox is in task manager. If I right click the icon and click "close all windows" nothing happens.
