Lines of test such as my email inbox are squeezed together and I only can see the top half of each line, it looks OK in Internet Explorer but not Firefox.

Besides what I said in my question, on some websites lines of text is sort of covered up by other lines of text and very hard to read. I just upgraded to the new Yahoo mail, I didn't have this problem with the old mail.

That may be an issue with the Yahoo code that Yahoo needs to fix.
They usually first make their code work with IE and fixes for other browsers come later.


Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
