Since the last Firefox upgrade (7.0.1), whenever I click on a URL contained in a Microsoft Outlook e-mail I get the following error message:

General Failure. The URL was <http://www.....>. The system cannot find the file specified

Then Firefox proceeds to open the web page.

What is causing the initial error message and how can I stop it from occurring?

Thanks

This can happen when your registry settings become corrupted. Making IE your default browser temporarily and then making Firefox your default browser again often fixes it. If not, you can make a change in Windows Explorer > Folder Options > File Types.
