Updated both Thunderbird and Firefox today. System crashed later with a bad network driver.

Neither Firefox nor Thunderbird will open now and I get a crash instantly with both.

I have tried to open both programs with "-p" and all I get is a small box with no text in it. Task manager shows these applications are not running.

Also, cannot open either program in safe mode (shift run) either. I am investigating creating a new profile to see if that helps.

I tried creating a new profile via commandline. I still could not open Firefox with it. Most commandline commands failed with either a small empty profile box or error screen.

I went to Mozilla.Org and found an 8.0 install and installed it. Both profiles now show up and when I choose the default profile, I can get into firefox now.

I will try to upgrade Thunderbird also.
