The first session I start after a reboot, none of my addons are enabled. After enabling and restarting, they remain enabled for all future sessions until a reboot.

I'm using Windows 7 64 bit.

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?

Some security software has virtualization features that can cause problems by protecting and restoring files in the Firefox profile folder.

Hi,

Please try deleting the extensions.* files in the Firefox Profile Folder after exiting Firefox. At the next startup, Firefox may ask to approve the detected add-ons, click Allow the installation and Continue, but click Restart only on the last tab. You can also open the profile folder from Firefox Help (Alt + H) > Troubleshooting Information > Open Containing Folder.

I opened the profile folder, deleted every extensions.* file. I opened Firefox, allowed every installation, and clicked restart on the last tab. When I rebooted my PC, the problem was the same.

I use ZoneAlarm Pro firewall and BitDefender antivirus. They are both a nuisance, nothing if not thorough, and on many occasions, they have blocked things I wanted to use. I keep them disabled 99% of the time they are so invasive, and it wouldn't surprise me if they were the cause of this problem.

Uninstalled ZoneAlarm Pro. No change. Uninstall BitDefender. Works perfectly.
