Is it possible to set parameters for mailto?

I'm trying to work through a problem opening an external email client with mailto links and wondered if it's possible to set the mail parameters - e.g., "-compose mailto:%t" - under that section in Options > Applications. I'm using Waterfox 12 (Win 7x64)

The problem I'm trying to work through is that when the client (Sylpheed - set as default) is running, it won't open a compose window from a mailto web link. It'll open a compose box only when it's not running. Or, I should say, every once in awhile it does, but not twice and not very often, no matter what I do. This failure to open the compose window is also happening with Opera and IE9, but it works correctly with Thunderbird (tested). I was thinking an alternative way to test in WFx would be to add Sylpheed under Use Other for mailto and then set the appropriate parameters for it, but I don't see a way to do that. Is there in FF/WFx?

hello, the applications settings are stored in the mimetypes.rdf file in your profile folder, it is customizable with any text editor. however i have not seen that any command line arguments are used for entries that are in the file by default, nor have i found any documentation about it when i searched on google. so i think it will rather not be possible this way...

you'll likely have more success if you report this bug/feature request directly to the developer of Sylpheed (mail adress is provided at the bottom of the homepage) - it looks like the software project is quite actively developed...

Thanks. I'm an active participant on the Sylpheed mail list. Just looking at ways of determining whether the problem is Sylpheed or a "bug" on my computer alone.
