Firefox not working. Deleted current version & downloaded newest. Won't load says another version is running. It's not. Tried rebooting won't work. Mac 10.5.8

Firefox not working. Deleted current version & downloaded newest. Won't load says another version is running. It's not. Tried rebooting won't work. Mac 10.5.8

Firefox was working fine then all of a sudden a couple days ago it would not run. Kept getting a message that it could not find the server. Said problem could be several things including server being too busy and to try again. Tried a number of more times still nothing.

Tried to download newest version to fix. Showed it downloaded. Still had same message. So, I deleted the application and the preference files for a clean download. Downloaded 13.0.1. Now it won't run saying that another version of Firefox is already running. It's not. No other versions are in the application folder, or when I search the system.

How do I get Firefox working again? It's my favorite browser.

get rid of all to do with firefox and start from there.

Make sure to remove the profiles.ini file if you've removed the Firefox Profile Folder to make firefox create a new default profile.
