I have an old email address that once had sync that I would like to renew.
I used sync several years ago with my same email address, but when I try to establish a new account I am unable to because of the pre-existing email address.

You should be able to go to https://account.services.mozilla.com/, and click the forgot your password link to use your old email to reset your password. However, keep in mind that this will delete all your existing sync data from whenever you used this account last. How do I choose what information to sync on Firefox?
