I tried downloading the MYStart tool bar - now I can't get that to go away - even uninstalled the IB stuff and it's still there when I open firefox...and to tool bar with file, edit, bookmark, tools and help is gone - never to be seen or used again....I am in a real pickle - I NEED that tool bar - I use it every day - all day. I HATE not being able to see the time at the lower righthand corner of my monitor - NEED that, too.

Is this because I upgraded to 17 ?? If so, I want to go back to the previous edition.

I tried the alt key and nothing happened.....give me a solution PLEASE!!!!

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F). If you are in full screen mode then hover the mouse to the top to make the Navigation Toolbar and Tab bar appear. Click the Maximize button (top right corner of the Navigation Toolbar) to leave full screen mode or right click empty space on a toolbar and choose "Exit Full Screen Mode" or press the F11 key.

Do you mean Mystart Incredibar? It is a mainly a virus, taking over Firefox and not letting it be removed easily. Is there something that you used it for? Another extension most likely does it better while respecting your user sovereignty and privacy.
