The PDF viewer is complete junk and it is hard for users to track down the problem - they think it is a system problem on our end. It is easy to change the default viewing option but users never figure this out on their own.

Please do not default to the embedded PDF viewer until it is bulletproof.

This is a shame because we rec your browser above all others but this one issue has been a nightmare.

Thanks.

Michael

For users who are having issues with Firefox's PDF viewer, they can disable it. Use Adobe Reader to view PDF files in Firefox

This is unbelievable. My users are totally lost right now thanks to Mozilla. I am currently strongly steering everyone towards Chrome without looking back. Mozilla hasn't learned anything from the masses of failed developers and their proven failure ways? PDF's simply do not work with this crappy PDF viewer, and now that I've lost untold amounts of money thanks to their excited short-sightedness, their reputation is tarnished badly.

Mozilla, CHANGE IT BACK NOW

Firefox will in some cases display a notification bar at the top of the browsing window if problems with a PDF file are detected offering to use a different PDF Viewer.

Is the embedded PDF viewer gone in Firefox 24.0 for Mac? Now one has to use Preview to open PDF files - the causes the PDF to be downloaded, and this clutters the Mac "Downloads" folder with junk PDF files.

As flawed as it was, the embedded viewer did not keep the downloaded file after it was closed. Are there any alternatives?

hi wsanders

You can try to set the browser.helperApps.deleteTempFileOnExit pref to true on the about:config page.
