Why does my Mozilla Firefox just shut down everyday, usually the same time?

My Mozilla Firefox will shut down every day between 2 and 3 pm. Sometimes it will just close in the morning but usually only the afternoon. Another co-worker says hers closes at around 6:30 pm every day. I have had it close while I am working on something. I have checked settings. I have run scans and cleaned registry. I have cleared browsing history and cookies. This has been happening for the past few months.

Is there any task scheduled in Windows to run around that time?

I checked. There are no scheduled tasks, nor has there been any. It closed today at 10:30 am without warning.

Firefox may be checking for updates around that time.

You can try to do a manual check to see if that has any effect.

You can try to reset the app.update.lastUpdateTime.* prefs on the about:config page page and close Firefox.
Restart Firefox and leave Firefox idle for a few minutes and check the about:config page to see if new app.update.lastUpdateTime.* prefs are created to indicate that Firefox has done the check for updates.
