Since one or two weeks I have noticed some slowness in firefox 27.0.1. If I want to load a new website it needs up to one or two or more minutes before a new website is loaded. And in some cases a new website could not be loaded. Error message: Server not found. I did not change anything for browser settings and there is no more programm installed in any ways. Firefox 27.0 has worked very well. First I try to update the plugins, but when I have checked the plugins everything is actual and alright. The same message I have got from the antivrus-software from software-updater. When could it be fixed for a new update of firefox ?

Hello,

Thanks for reporting this. Can you please give us an example of a site that was loading fine on Firefox 27.0 and is causing issues in Firefox 27.0.1? Based on that we can investigate the root cause.

Also, is it possible for you to rule out that the network connectivity (say ISP having issues) is not the cause of the slowness you are seeing the pages getting loaded?

Also, if you can please try scanning your computer for malware or viruses it will help rule out that issue too.

One more option for you is to try running Firefox 27.0.1 in safe mode (instructions below). Please check that and report if that helped.

Thank you

Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that turns off some settings and disables most add-ons (extensions and themes).

(If you're using an added theme, switch to the Default theme.)

If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu by clicking on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item:
FirefoxSafeMode

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:

  • On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.

Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode" Safe Mode Fx 15 - Win

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.

To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Hello gnittala,

thanks for your message. But I think this will not solve the problem. A several versions of firefox earlier I have noticed the same problem. Some slowness in opening new websites and new windows, slow speed in using and downloading through firefox download manager. I have reported this problem here in mozilla firefox support. The given solution should have been to restart firefox with deactivated addons in safe mode. I have followed all steps to start firefox in safe mode with deactivated addons, but it did not solve the problem. If firefox was updated again with a new version, then this theme of slowness in downloading and opening websites and new windows was solved. This has happened two times. My posted question here is now the third time to describe the same problem. I am no professional PC-worker. But I am sure that I have not changed anything in everything of installation or software on my PC. I am sure, if firefox is updated again in to 27.0.2 or up into 28.0, this described problem will not be there at all.

I do not want to use a Beta-version of firefox. I have heard too much worse about it. I think a new updated firefox version 27.0.2 or 28.0 will solve this problem.
