In Windows 7, I let Firefox upgrade to 35 and lost the desktop and all Firefox settings, bookmarks and addons.

Firefox wanted to upgrade to 35 so I allowed it to do so, only to lose my entire desktop. When I was able to reboot I found that Firefox had indeed upgraded to 35.0.1, but without any previous settings, addons, bookmarks etc. Found a link to return to a previous version, but that just caused it to go to a default setting. Is there a way to return to version 34 with my old settings?
