Yes: Create a new exisitng mail account for the existing gmail email address. File > New > Exisitng Mail account or Menu icon > New Messages > Exisitng Mail account. The Thunderbird Mail account wizard window will appear. Enter your name Enter full email address Enter password - the same one you use to logon to see your gmail emails in your webmail account. Select to remember password. Click on Continue. Thunderbird will look up the configuration files. Usually, it auto checks for IMAP, so you should not need to alter anything. When it has located server settings, click on 'Done'. this will create the imap mail account in Thunderbird. Once this has been done, check settings. You can locate them either; Tools > Account Settings for the mail account or Menu icon > Options > Account Settings or right click on mail accoutn in FolderPane and select 'Settings'.
