Why does Thunderbird deletes downloaded emails from hotmail server automatically? I've faced this problem twice. Kindly help.

I've configured 'hotmail' account on thunderbird. From past few days, all the downloaded email from the hotmail server on thunderbird gets swipe automatically. Suddenly it shows no email. This problem occurred twice. Kindly help.

If you want to use a inbox in local folders you can either configure a global inbox for Hotmail, or create a message filter that automatically moves the messages from Hotmail's inbox to local folder's inbox.

Do you have Thunderbird set to do that? Look under Tools->Account Settings->Server Settings. If "Leave messages on server" is currently selected, either un-select that or also select "Until I delete them".
