I use thunderbird to read rss. So when i read articles,it opens it on thunderbird. I wish thunderbird opens rss links on a browser so i can use its privacy and security configurations and add-ons.

Chosen solution

As Matt said, set the feed folder to show the summary in the Subscribe dialog, as described in the guide. Then, set the pref rss.message.loadWebPageOnSelect to 1. On selecting a feed message, the summary will show in the message pane and its web site link will be loaded in an external browser.

Note that Adblock Plus works well in Tb, per the related FAQ item.

so what exactly fo you want Thunderbird to display? Perhaps you need to select the show article summary instead of loading the web page when you subscribe.

Your configuration don't solve my problem. i must open links on thunderbird. I think that network.protocol-handler.app.http config should apply to rss too or use a similar key for rss service.
