Trying to Install a dictionary in Thunderbird without success.
I have just migrated from Win 7 to Win 10 and downloaded the latest version of TB (38.2.0) I have then downloaded the British English language pack (v 38.1.0) and been told it has installed correctly. This shows in the TB Add-ons page.
In TB's Options/Composition I have checked both the "Check before sending" and "Enable spell check as you type" boxes. When I type a word incorrectly in the TB Write page there is no red underline. When I open the Options tab in the Write page I see that "Enable Spell Check as you type" is greyed out.
I am not sure where I am going wrong, how can i install a spel cheker in TB?
Thank yuo,
Tregarth

I think you may have installed it into Firefox.

Mine was disabled by a recent update and the original was declared to be unsuitable.
I found this one to replace it:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/british-english-dictionary-2/
and it's working fine here in TB38.2.0
Thank you for your reply. I have used the link to download the add-on which seems to want to go into Firefox not Thunderbird.
I have seen a message "British English...successfully installed." But when I look in Add-ons in TB it is not present. I have disabled the previous language pack (38.1.0), closed and re-started TB and but the newer version still does not show.
How can I make it install/show in TB?
Thank you
Tregarth.

Thank you, you are right. But what I did not see was a "switch" which would allow me to install in TB.
What I did not know was that the TB add-on page allowed me to search add-ons for a particular add-on subject. Once I typed "dictionary" I saw that Dictionary v 1.19.6 was available.
I have downloaded and installed it, all is now working properly.
Thank you,
Tregarth
