My view settings will not remain as set. It reverts to date ascending constantly. I want date descending.

This is the third time I'm asking the same question. My view settings will not stay as set (Date - Descending). Each folder has Date Ascending. If I reset each folder to Date Descending, it will revert back to Date Ascending the next time I open Thunderbird. Is there a fix for this problem? It gets really frustrating to have to scroll all the way down my messages to the latest one.

I can't see any record of you asking this same question under this identity. That could be due to this forum having been set up, taken down and set up again.

So it's hard to know what you have tried or what has already been suggested.

Do you use anything like CCleaner? I am grasping at straws, because I think those settings are stored in the msf files and I don't think even CCleaner touches those.

I do use CCleaner and am aware of a compatibility issue between it and TB but I have turned off all attributes for TB in CCleaner and still have the same problem.

I guess I could CCleaner to see if that makes a difference, but I have the Professional level and am afraid I wouldn't be able to re-establish it after the test.
