According to Firefox, I shouldn't use their program?! (Your connection is not secure issue)
I installed Firefox on my Macbook, and I haven't been able to connect to ANY site not even Firefox! (I'm back on safari) In the help section, I got the following response What does "Your connection is not secure" mean?

When Firefox connects to a secure website (the URL begins with "https://"), it must verify that the certificate presented by the website is valid and that the encryption is strong enough to adequately protect your privacy. If the certificate cannot be validated or if the encryption is not strong enough, Firefox will stop the connection to the website and instead show an error page:

If you encounter such an error message, if possible, you should contact the owners of the website and inform them of the error. It is recommended that you wait for the website to be fixed before using it. The safest thing to do is to click Go Back, or to visit a different website. Unless you know and understand the technical reason why the website presented incorrect identification, and are willing to risk communicating over a connection that could be vulnerable to an eavesdropper, you should not proceed to the website.

I'm pretty sure, Firefox has its stuff together, and IS a secure site, so it has to be something else that's throwing out this error.... Can anybody tell me what to do? Most help seems to assume you use Windows, and the AVAST help gives directions that my avast doesn't have.... I used Firefox a lot, got away from it because my Mac came with safari, but I want to use it again, so any help is appreciated :-)

There is security software like Avast, Kaspersky, BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connections and send their own certificate.

The options given to "fix" Avast, do not work, because I don't have the suggested options..... The only way is to totally uninstall Avast, and that is not acceptable. Does anybody know how I can make them play together?

Try to set this pref to true on the about:config page in case your security software adds its root certificate to the Mac Keychain store.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.
