Will not download email to one address
Since the Win10 update o/a 7/10, I have been unable to access emails to one of my addresses, ***@verizon.net. Gmail etc. is working fine.
I see on my iPhone ***@verizon.net downloads just fine.
I am able to compose and send emails from that account. Looking at the security and other parameters on my iPhone and TB, they are a match.
I have tried starting in safe mode. No joy.

have you tried turning off your iphone for 10 minute to see if it is actually the cause? iphones can lock out other devices through their use of all available logins to a mail account.
As verizon is now using Yahoo infrastructure via the AOL mess they created. Perhaps you could post the troubleshooting information on the help menu to a reply post here so we can check your account settings. They probably should not be the same as those used on an iphone. most are not.
OK, did as you suggested with my iPhone. Didn't seem to affect Thunderbird.
Took 12 snips of the Troubleshooting screen, but they won't upload as when I try to block them (SHFT-left click, to bottom of list and SHFT-left click), no joy.
Win 10 is no longer amused by such keyboard shortcuts I suppose. I'm used to ancient operating systems, I'm afraid.

that is your firefox troubleshooting information. Not much help with Thunderbird problems unfortunately.
You might try disabling email scanning in AVG and see if that helps with the issue however.

This is a real disaster. I have over 1,000 messages hanging fire and TB will no longer access that single address. I can send but not receive. Other addresses I use, such as d.cook.csmr@gmail.com, and others function just fine. I think July 10, the last time I could receive emails, was when Win10 was last updated. They suggested I use Windows Mail. Really don't want to have to resort to that.

I have been having the same problem after the Win10 update in July. I just clicked on the McAfee anti-spam tab inside Thunderbird and turned it off . My emails magically started downloading. It seems to be working fine now.
If you have junk in Thunderbird from an anti virus product it is always appropriate to disable it immediately. it is always unstable and such things have been a long term cause of issues with not only Thunderbird. Perhaps the anti virus companies should concentrate on what they are good at. mail is certainly not one of them and actively developed mail clients routinely find user support required to remove the junkware introduced (often in the same way viruses are, by injection into the running process) by the folks they have trusted their security to.
This seems to have been the problem. I disabled AVG email "protection" and now my over 2K emails are downloading, for the first time since 8/10, when Win10 updated.
Odd thing has always been, somehow none of the other tranches had such a problem, just the one address.

One of the issues with email scanning is some products can only scan connections that do not use SSL or TLS. Others think they can and sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. Depending if you compromise your connection security by making the anti virus vendor a certifying authority. Or if your system is fast enough for the added load on the get mail not to result in timeouts.
