Lockup followed by Refresh prompt

This has happened several times over the last few weeks. I'll be using Firefox with 8-12 tabs open, or even far less, and then suddenly I cannot select any of the tabs. I click on them, and nothing happens. Video and audio will keep playing, but I cannot select anything.

So at this point I quit it, it closes fine, and when I launch it again it prompts me to either start in safe mode or to refresh. I have to restart the PC to get it to launch Firefox normally again.

The only extension I use is uBlock origin.

I added the option to share info on my system, but it doesn't seem to show. I'm on Windows 10 with FF 77 on an i7 2600 powered PC.

Are you quiting normally or thru the task manager?
Are you watching more than one clip at a time?
Describe what is in each tab.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

I quit it normally with the X in the top right. If I select start in safe mode it starts in safe mode, but the prompt will keep showing after that, and not allow me to start the browser normally again until I reboot the PC.

Would it be better to force quit in task manager?

I'm only ever playing 1 video at a time, and the rest of the tabs will just be other sites, like reddit, computer forums etc.

Closing any program via the Task Manager should be avoided if possible,

Could you please run a tool from http://memtest.org/
in order to check the integrity of your RAM?

You will need a thumb or disk drive to install it on.

Do you let Windows handle the page file or did you set a fixed size ?
If you use a fixed size for the page file then try the former and let Windows handle the page file.

I've done plenty of RAM tests with nothing but perfect results, and even if it was a RAM issue, I'd be having issues with other applications, and I'm not.

As for the page file... I let Windows handle all that. It's set to whatever the default is.

So that's it? Is there no real solution here?
