Since the update of Thunderbird to use primary passwords I cant access my email using Thunderbird. I have set a primary password and enabled its use however I now get the following error message when trying to retrieve email "Sending of username did not succeed. Mail server pop.1and1.co.uk responded: authentication failed" What do I need to do to fix this please

I'm puzzled. Primary passwords have been an option for many years. The only difference is they used to be called master passwords and now primary passwords, but same function. And always optional. Your account problem needs more information before anyone can give suggestions.
