Hi, The "Check for Messages" button has disappeared. None of the items in the menu appears to have an option to check messages. Normally I just run Firefox and read what comes in but Mozilla just sent me a verification code. The only way I could find to get it right away was to close Thunderbird and re-open it.

Is there any easy way to check for new emails in Thunderbird?

you could rightclick on unified toolbar and drag the 'get message's icon there. Is the 'new messages' button also missing? If so, click view>folders and tick 'folder pane header'
