See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Creating_a_desktop_shortcut_to_a_webpage ..... You can drag the favicon at the left side of the location bar to the desktop to create a shortcut.

You can also use an extension. Create Shortcut: http://www.pikey.me.uk/mozilla/?addon=cs Deskcut: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/66 ..... If you need a (fav)icon for that desktop shortcut then look at: getFavicon: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/9548
