AutoDesk Mapguide Viewer Hangs/Fails @ VBGOV.com Portal

more options

In previous iterations (pre 3.6) of Firefox the certified Autodesk plug-in "Mapguide" (www.mapguide.com) worked without too much problem. There was an occasional hiccup, but now the service fails to loads critical map data from the VBGOV.com portal.

VBGOV.com is the municipal web site for the City of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

The noted page is an interactive map with multiple layers of overlay data for GIS and real estate research.

Error messages I am receiving, unique to this browser (there is no problem in IE 6 or 7) include:

"An error occurred reading the map layer data. This problem may have been caused by an intermittent network error -- please try downloading the affected map layers again" (numerous instances)

"Unable to load data file" (numerous instances)

Please advise.

Troubleshoot to rule out that problem as being caused by an extension - like Adblock Plus filters or by Stealther or the Java Quick Starter.

Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode Don't select anything right now, just use "Continue in SafeMode."

If not, see this: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/troubleshooting+extensions+and+theme...

Problem still exists in safe mode.
